O'Bannon vs NCAA is a court case that involves a person who sued the NCAA for money, because they were making money off a video game, that he was in. Ed O'Bannon sued the NCAA for not giving his payment on a video game he was in. It took place in 2009 with the US district court. NCAA argued it is amature sports organization and that it's main purpose is to govern the college athletes. He was able to sue them because he had the time and money. Many others player could sue, because it is hard for them to find time and money to do this. O’Bannon claimed athletes, that generated billions of dollars for the organization should get some of the money. The NCAA lost and had to give him 40 million dollars.
