Put your big boy pants on and get over it
The clueless animal aimlessly walked into the road full of speeding cars. Suddenly a car came speeding down the road. Just like that the dog was struck.
It was just any summer day in the third grade. I was playing in my back yard with my neighbor and my mom was inside making us lemonade. Our house was under construction at the time, so we had no gates surrounding our house. As my mom opened the door to walk outside, then our dog, Cricket, bolted out between her legs. As she ran around she ducked under the plastic fence and out into the road. As she looked around, then a car came speeding down. She stood no chance. After she was struck I was sadder than ever, I had to get over the loss, I had to get back up and get over it.
If you can get back up from something, you can overcome the sadness kept within you. Whether you broke up with a girlfriend or you lost someone close to you, you can't keep that inside you, you have to let it go. If you keep that darkness locked up in you, you become sad and depressed. What happens happens, you have to let go.
When my dog wandered into that road I knew I was going to have to get over the loss. If I kept being sad and depressed, my life would be dull. If you can overcome these obstacles it's a great feeling. Inside you don't feel the giant pit you felt before. When my dog was rushed into the emergency room, I knew that the outcome wasn't going to be good. Days after I was still sad and I still missed my beloved dog. But after some taking with my mom I knew what I had to do. I couldn't look back.
To get back up you have to be resilient. You can't keep looking back. At school I would sit at my desk and think about all the good times I had with her. I knew it was ok but I couldn't get overly attached. Once something happens you can't go back, you just have to live through it. You have to persevere and get back up.
If you take a hit you have to get right back up. You have to forget it ever happened, and get over it. Get over it and you'll be more happy then ever.
